Relaxation Massage This massage is the ultimate in relaxation. The Registered Massage Therapist will warm up the tissues using smooth gliding strokes to assist you in total relaxation. Relaxation massage utilizes many of the same broad, firm strokes that are practiced in other massage techniques to work the muscles gently. The benefits of a relaxation massage are numerous including: improving circulation, enhancing relaxation, improving energy and concentration, and easing tension in the body Therapeutic Massage Tired achy muscles? Sore low back? This is the massage for you. The Massage Therapist will work with your muscles to help reduce pain, increase range of motion, relieve muscle spasms and improve circulation. This type of treatment is designed to release tight and painful muscles, break down adhesions and restore normal movement. Couples Massage Enjoy a relaxation or therapeutic massage with someone special – perfect for couples, best friends, family and mother-daughters. Unwind with a side-by-side massage treatment and enjoy the experience together. Prenatal Massage Prenatal massage is a great way to relax and relieve pain from your body as you prepare for baby. Focusing on your comfort, the Massage Therapist will help to alleviate stress and fatigue and ease any sore spots in your low back and throughout your body. We utilize pillows and specialized bolsters to allow you to lay comfortably on your stomach or on your side. Prenatal massages can be done after the first trimester or sooner with a doctor’s note. Hot Stone Massage Hot stones are used to ease muscle stiffness and melt away tension. The heat from the basalt stones deeply penetrates the muscles and allows the massage therapist to access deeper layers of muscle tissue. In addition to the therapeutic massage techniques used, the stones act an extension of the therapist’s hand to increase circulation and allow for complete relaxation. Reflexology Reflexology is more than just a “foot massage”. It is a healing form of touch focused on enhancing your overall health and well-being. Your massage therapist will apply pressure to particular spots on your feet using their hands and wooden Thai reflexology sticks. The basis behind reflexology is that we have reflex points in our feet that correspond to the organs and systems in our body. By applying the right amount of pressure, the therapist will positively affect these organs and systems. This non-invasive treatment can assist in alleviating headaches, sinus congestion, constipation, and of course, sore feet among many others. TMJ trigger point massage Trigger points are hyper-tensed muscles (aka muscle knots) that cause jaw aches and pains. The therapist starts by gently touching the muscle to relax it. Next, they firmly press a thumb or finger into the tissue to identify and apply intense pressure to any trigger points. Aromatherapy Massage Aromatherapy massage is used for a variety of different reasons, including relaxation, pain management, and improved mood. These are also some of the basic benefits of massage therapy. Adding essential oils is thought to enhance such benefits |
Traditional Thai Massage
Thai massage is a system of massage and manipulation developed in Thailand. We provide loose fitting Thai wear and the massage is done on a Thai mat on the floor. During the massage, you will be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions, but rhythmic pressure still forms the basis of this massage. There is a standard procedure and rhythm to Thai massage, but the therapist will still customize the massage to meet each individual client. Table Thai Massage Table Thai allows the Massage Therapist to bring the benefits of Traditional Thai Massage to the comfort of the massage table. A combination of techniques such as rhythmic rocking, compression, acupressure, and assisted-like yoga stretches are used to maximize the benefits. Table Thai can help bring the body back into a state of balance, relieve muscle pain & tension, and increase range of motion and flexibility. Bamboo Thai Massage Specially chosen bamboo sticks are used in this treatment to knead and roll muscle tissue with ease. Perfect for getting out those stubborn knots! The bamboo sticks work as an extension of the therapist’s hands to get into different muscle groups deeply and effectively. This deep tissue massage helps to relieve tension in the body while improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. Cupping Massage Cupping Massage is almost like massage in reverse. In traditional massage, downward pressure is applied into the muscle tissue. In cupping massage, suction is used to draw the muscles upward instead. Cupping softens and releases adhesions, releases toxin buildup in the tissues, and creates space along the spine and low back for more effective movement and circulation. This form of massage is great for anyone who suffers from muscle tightness and stiffness, or circulation/immune deficiencies. Craniosacral Therapy Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, light touch massage therapy technique that is intended to relieve pain and tension in the body and promote optimal functioning. Craniosacral Therapy works to release restrictions in the fascia (connective tissue underneath the skin) and in the craniosacral rhythm (the subtle pulsation of cerebrospinal fluid that nourishes and protects the brain and spinal cord.) Once tension is released in the central nervous system, every other body system can relax, self correct and free itself of pain and discomfort. |
